Medical weight loss, personally guided. FDA-approved GLP-1 medication, real lab work, and a nurse practitioner who checks in with you every month, right here in Wake Forest.
Weight loss medication works best with a real medical team behind it. At Fab, you’re not a login on an app. You meet our nurse practitioner in person, start with a full health review and labs, and come back every month so your plan keeps up with your progress.
GLP-1 medication may be an option if your BMI is 30 or higher, or 27 or higher with a weight-related health condition such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol or prediabetes. Our nurse practitioner will review your full health history to decide whether it’s safe for you.
This program is not a fit if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or planning a pregnancy, or have a personal or family history of medullary thyroid cancer or MEN 2.
Medication is purchased separately, directly from the manufacturer’s pharmacy at their self-pay price. We’ll show you how to order and what to expect at your consult.
Do you offer compounded semaglutide or tirzepatide?
No. We prescribe only FDA-approved, brand-name medication so you know exactly what you’re getting.
What side effects should I expect?
The most common are nausea, constipation and reduced appetite, especially when starting or increasing a dose. We increase your dose gradually and coach you on eating, hydration and protein to keep you comfortable.
How much weight will I lose?
Results vary from person to person. Your plan is built around your health, your goals and how your body responds.
Do I have to give myself the injection?
The medication is a once-weekly injection you take at home. We’ll teach you how at your start visit, and many clients take their first dose in our office.
Can I transfer from another provider?
Yes. Bring your current dose and recent labs to your consult and our nurse practitioner will plan your transition.
Does insurance cover this?
Our program fees are self-pay. Some insurance plans cover Zepbound® or Wegovy®; check with your plan, and we’ll help you compare options at your consult.
What about loose skin or facial volume loss?
As weight comes off, some clients notice changes in their face and skin. Our aesthetic team can talk with you about options like Sculptra® and skin tightening whenever you’re ready.
GLP-1 medications require a prescription and are not right for everyone. Zepbound® and Wegovy® carry a boxed warning about a possible risk of thyroid C-cell tumors. Prescribing decisions are made by our nurse practitioner after a medical evaluation. Individual results vary.
